Britain´s finest

.....as days get longer and warmer what´s the best thing to acompany  fruity summer cocktails and burnt barbecue goods to keep up the campfire athmosphere...........right good acoustic music, i am in love with Burberry Acoustic, which was introduced last year during  Burberry´s S/S menswear show
.........handpicked British artists play acoustic sessions in, for them familiar places all over london

thumbs up for Christopher Bailey´s music taste.....

Easter Rabbit, Easter Rabbit......

.... recently i was told  that i am too old for an easter egg hunt, first i was really sad that there won´t be the annual chocolate mess but i have found something way more figure friendly and desirable than an ordinary chocolate egg, the FabergĂ© Egg

Lillies of the Valley Egg

The Mosaic Egg

The Pelican Egg

The Madonna Lilly Clock Egg

The Order of Saint George Egg

The Basket of Wild Flowers Egg

The Gatchina Palace Egg

The Clover Leaf Egg

The Rose Trellis Egg

The Alexander Palace Egg

The Bay Tree Egg

The Napoleonic Egg

The Grisaille Egg

The  Peter the Great Egg

The Coronation Egg,...
known from the Ocean´s Twelve movie

....those jeweled eggs, forerunners of our suprise eggs, were produced by the House of Fabergé on order of Tsar Alexander III for his beloved Tsarina Maria Fyodorovna, after his death his son Tsar Nicholas II continued to give eggs to his mother and his wife until he was assassinated,....
anyway  42 of the 50 eggs survived the riots in Russia and rest in museeums all over the world, so if you find a preciouse looking egg in your granny´s living room it´s maybe one of the missing eggs

......so enough about eggs!!!!

go glitz.......

..... watching  TODDLERS & TIARAS on the one hand totally makes me wanna go back in time to take part in a glitz pageant myself and expirience all this form a child´s perspective and on the other hand go and call the youth welfare office....
i mean seriously do those mums realize what they are doing to their mini me´s......

.... Susan Anderson a LA-based  commercial, editorial and fine-art photographer  has dared to enter the world of  fake tan, flippers, extentions and hairspray at some of America´s child beauty pageants, resulting in a documentary portrait series.....
HIGH GLITZ, the extravagant world of child beauty pageants
....... setting up her studio admist the colorful spectacle, she captures the young girls at the heigt of their performance, hours of preperation are spent on each child´s apperance, and g´her camera records it all in graphic detail.....

...tough you easily get lost in this surreal world of glitz and glamour always keep in mind that not  everything that glitters is gold.....

........no offence but i would be scared to death if i would meet a full glitz girl by night, caus they remind me on chucky´s bride......

Saint paddy´s purse

...who tought that kilts are a typical Scott´s thing is wrong Saint Paddy´s day proofed that the Irish as well  enjoy the feeling of legroom, but anyway this entry is not about men feeling masculine wearing a kilt...
what really caught my attention were the little bags hanging around acting as male part protection, called SPORRAN usually made of leather or fur, these little bags would also look nice on my shoulder.......

.....these more traditional guys only remove their sporran when  driving a car, dancing, playing drums, or engaging in any activity where a heavy pouch might encumber the wearer, the sporran can turned around the waist to let it hang on the hip in a more casual position.....

We are prostitutes...

reading this amazing book, about the rough childhood of a  boy growing up in a family of  courtesan´s under matriarchy, who finally turns into Pakistans most famouse painter, one rainy sunday afternoon, put me on the track of  IQBAL HUSSAIN

self portrait
 Hussain between Rembrandt and Delacroix

... born and raised in Pakistans disputed red light district Heera Mandi, he soon had to learn that in a family of sex workers and no men, boys are not very welcome, the only way to escape the boredom was painting
.....nowadays Iqbal Hussain is known as enfant terrible of Pakistans art scene, his  paintings of women from Heera Mandi (prostitutes), are for many people in the strictly islamic Pakistan a thorn in their side, thats why a lot of galleries refuse to display his works...

..... his paintings show real life secens, women crying, holing a mirror reflecting their past or just waiting and then there are other women, fat but beautiful with kids, their clothes awry, ravishing girls waiting what the day will bring, either anxiously or selfconfident and just admiring their own beauty
... still living  in Heera Mandi, where he gets all his inspiration from, he owns now a little cafe, there in the darkness of the small rooms he exhibits all the paintings this is also the place where he works and where the women come to, to pose for THEIR artist, in the morning, sometimes also in the afternoon depending on their mood however they please
